So today has been a pretty boring day. My goal was to get more writing done for nanowrimo but I think I only managed about fifty extra words. I have pretty much surfed the internet, read more of “The End of Prosperity”, and taken two baths. However, I did come across an interesting article with helpful tips that are good for everyone.

For example i learned:

  • If you need new shoes, it is better to go in the late afternoon because your feet are at their biggest…
  • The best time to book a flight is wednesday from 12am-2am…
  • And it is best to have your photo taken mid-day soon after applying make-up…

Well, I found it fascinating, wich isn’t saying much.

Where did you go..Oh….you must have your INVISIBLE CLOAK on

All I have to say about this is , sign me up , I want one! How incredible would it be to invisible sometimes. Of course, if this is actually produced I am sure it will cost buggazillions of dollars. I mean the possibilities are endless. If I had this magic cloak i think i would sneak into all the movies I could possibly see….but I wonder if the person/thing under the cloak is able to see anything?  It would also be fun to creep into somewhat crowded areas (cause duh! the cloak makes you invisible but you would still take up space), and I would find a spot and start butting in to people’s conversations saying the most random things I could come up with…Like – “Gimmie a buger!” or “I like green cabinets and square spaghetti”……(Yeah , I am aware that I am weird I have just chosen to except it) What what you do if you had an invisible cloak?

Researchers in Britain and the United States, however, have published a theoretical blueprint for how to construct a cloak made from revolutionary materials that could guide light around it. They say they might be able to build one within five years.

The cloak would be made from metamaterials, which are engineered with tiny physical structures – metal coils, or rods shaped like aerials. Scientists have been able to ”tune” them to bend electromagnetic waves, and effect that could be extremely important in military applications.

Researchers say the cloaks might be able to hide planes or ships from the radio waves used in radars.

Even more astounding – at least for the average person – would be the ability to wrap oneself in an invisibility cloak and disappear.

”The cloak would act like you’ve opened up a hole in space,” said David Smith, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Duke University and a co-author of one of the papers on cloaking devices published this week in the on-line edition of the journal Science.
